Kinesiology services consist of assessment of physical function followed by creation of a tailored exercise program to support the client's performance or recovery goals. This service includes Kinesiology and Personal Training. Kinesiology provides assessment and treatment plans for people managing physical injuries sustained in an automobile collision (ICBC), in sports or other life activities. Personal training provides assessment and treatment plans for general fitness, sport specific performance or other athletic training.

Scott has a special interest in treating conditions of the lower extremity, particularly the foot and ankle. He uses a bio-mechanical analysis and specific exercise approach to solving both acute and overuse injuries. These principles form a cornerstone for his return to sport/activity pathway. Scott has a wealth of sport injury experience, having worked with Canadian athletes at Pan-American and Olympic games, as well as working clinically with many professional and high-level amateur athletes. He has served as the Head Therapist for UBC Athletics and Field Hockey Canada, Club physiotherapist for Fusion FC Soccer Club and is currently the Head Physiotherapist for the League 1 Naut’sa mawt FC men’s soccer team.

Scott enjoys staying up to date with current sports physiotherapy and sports medicine literature and serves on the Education Committee for Sports Physiotherapy Canada. He is the coordinator of the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Center Physiotherapy Fellowship program, as well as the coordinator for the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Center & Canadian Sport Institute Pacific partnership.

Andrea completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology with distinction at the University of Western Ontario where she also played on the Varsity Women’s Soccer Team. Andrea received the Academic All-Canadian award in all 4 years while studying and playing at Western. She continued her studies at the University of Western Ontario to achieve her Master’s in Physical Therapy.

In addition to athletes, Andrea also enjoys working with patients from paediatric to older adult populations. Specific clinical areas of interest for Andrea are foot/ankle, knees, hips, as well as osteoarthritis. Andrea helps clients achieve their activity goals using functional exercises that are practical for their abilities and resources, clear guidance on activity modification and return to activity pathways, as well as manual therapy.

When Andrea is not in the clinic, she enjoys playing multiple sports including soccer and golf as well as spending time with friends and family.

Teri-Lynn is a manual therapist with a particular interest in sports. She holds the highest certification offered by the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She has worked as the head Physiotherapist for the Canadian National Field Hockey Team, the UBC Women’s Varsity Soccer Team and currently serves as the Head Physiotherapist for the Naut’sa mawt League 1 women’s soccer team and as the Club Physiotherapist for Fusion FC. She has a special interest in treating adolescent soccer players as well as middle-aged athletes of all sorts. She also has a particular interest in the rehabilitation of ACL injuries.

Teri-Lynn is an experienced problem solver combining assessment, manual therapy and exercise. She enjoys working collaboratively with her patients and sports medicine physicians to solve challenging injuries. Teri-Lynn believes strongly in activity throughout the lifespan and works hard to enable this in her clients.

Outside of work Teri-Lynn enjoys working out at the gym, running, and has a sporting background in gymnastics, golf, volleyball, skiing and hiking.

Greg is from Newfoundland and Labrador and has a special interest in working with the athletic populations, in particular Soccer and CrossFit athletes. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Honours in 2017 at Memorial University. While at Memorial University, he played varsity soccer for the Memorial Sea-Hawks. Greg then went on to complete his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2019.

For the past 4 years he had been working as a physiotherapist in Prince Edward Island. During his time there, he gained experience working with college soccer, volleyball and basketball teams. Greg attended multiple national soccer and volleyball competitions, including the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games. Greg also has coached soccer as an assistant coach for Holland College and as a head coach with PEI provincial teams.

Greg has continued education in concussion management, ACL injury management, and Sport First Responder. Recently, he obtained his Sports Certificate from Sports Physiotherapy Canada.

Greg is currently completing a Sport Physiotherapy Fellowship at Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Clinic and with the Vancouver Whitecaps.

When not in the clinic, you can find Greg playing and coaching soccer or at the gym.

Heather has a special interest in shoulder and upper extremity rehabilitation. Her treatment approach combines manual therapy and exercise prescription to optimize function. She is also certified in Kinetacore Functional Dry Needling (FDN)/Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA).

Heather enjoys running half marathons, hiking, golfing and travelling when she’s not in the clinic.

Matt graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2019 with a Bachelor degree in Kinesiology before completing a Master of Kinesiology degree in 2021.

Throughout his time at UBC, Matt worked as an athletic trainer with the UBC Men’s Rugby Program and currently works as a strength and conditioning coach with their junior varsity and U16-U19 academy athletes. Matt also has experience working with a wide range of clients, such as those with acquired brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and other mobility concerns.

When he is not working, Matt enjoys staying active by doing the same exercises he prescribes for his athletes and clients. Outside of the weight room, Matt enjoys spending time with his friends, family and his two dogs.”

Aside from nearly 20 years of professional experience as an accomplished sports medicine physiotherapist, Jay is an active husband and father of four. He enjoys helping his kids to keep fit and feel good as they develop as strong athletes with a lifelong love of sport and the outdoors.

On any given weekend, Jay can be found on the field hockey pitch, in the ice arena, or adventuring with his family. He is actively involved in his daughters’ field hockey club where he is always available to answer rehabilitation questions or exercise and movement concerns.

Jay enjoys hiking and trail running in various North Shore parks with his family, including his dog. Jay also plays in an ice hockey league where they continue to pursue gold! Above all, Jay enjoys activity and family as he strives to live his best life!

Andrea is originally from Vancouver and is UBC Alumni. She completed honours degree in Physiotherapy (2000) at Coventry University in England. She worked at Western with varsity athletes and completed a Masters degree in Orthopaedic Physiotherapy (2005) with work leading to publications in Physical Therapy (2007) and Physiotherapy Canada (2007).

Andrea returned to Vancouver and completed a Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy, a Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) and Chan Gunn IMS. Her continued work in sport medicine allowed her to participate as part of the medical teams for the 2010 Olympic Games, the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India, and travel as far as Russia and Austria.

Andrea has worked in sports medicine for over 20 years and, while working with all types of clients, has treated athletes from the recreational to the elite level. She has particular experience in rugby, field hockey, ice hockey, football, basketball, track and field, swimming, and gymnastics. With three children under 11, she has more recently developed an interest in care of the pre-natal and post-partum mum.

Dallas completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia-Okanagan before moving to Vancouver to complete his Master of Physical Therapy at the Vancouver campus. He has worked in both hospital and private settings while in school and is comfortable working with a wide variety of clients.

As a physiotherapist, it is Dallas’ job to understand how both your mental and physical health can impact your injury. He understands that each person is different and will spend 100% of his treatment time with you to get to know your story and to make an individualized treatment plan.

Dallas understands the importance of preventative rehab. He uses a combination of education, exercise, and manual therapy to help you regain function as well as reduce the risk of re-injury.

When he is not in the clinic, he enjoys running, cycling, soccer, snowboarding, and backpacking.

Alex graduated with a Kinesiology degree from the University of Victoria before completing a Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia.

Alex is passionate about helping people achieve their health and performance potential both physically and mentally. Growing up in Vancouver, Alex enjoyed playing many different sports, including hockey, basketball, rugby, soccer, and tennis. There is nothing Alex likes more than stepping out of his comfort zone to try a new activity. Besides sport performance, Alex loves helping patients of all ages and ability; choosing an individualized approach tailored specifically for each patient.

Physiotherapy, for Alex, means a guided set of exercise, education, and manual therapy. Alex believes in building relationships with his patients to allow for collaboration on goal setting and treatment planning. As a team, Alex will strive to achieve the most successful outcome for his patients. Empowering his patients to go home and achieve their goals is what brings him joy at work.
